Safety and Security for the D.C. Area

Please join us for a briefing from Virginia Tech Police Department Captain Jeremy Guida, the newly-appointed support services police captain in the greater Washington, D.C., metro area. Guida will address safety and security topics for all members of the VT community, including cultural awareness, campus safety, Metro safety, incident reporting, and more.
Building our Capacity to Navigate Uncertainty: A Session for Post-Docs and Grad Students

Navigating uncertainty is a common experience for graduate students and post-docs, especially in the face of shifting federal funding and fluctuations in governmental priorities. These external factors can amplify a sense of vulnerability and make it challenging to stay focused on your goals. This interactive session will equip you with strategies to manage stress, strengthen your resilience and foster a supportive community as you navigate change together. Join the Virginia Tech Ombuds Offices and Postdoctoral Affairs Program to explore strategies for staying grounded and practicing compassionate listening in the face of uncertainty. How to Use iThenticate

Explore how to navigate the iThenticate software, submit a document for review, and evaluate flagged passages for revision or exclusion at this session for graduate students and faculty. iThenticate is a software system that reviews the originality of documents, ensures accurate attribution to other authors and eliminates occurrences of potential plagiarism.
